Former Manila mayor Alfredo Lim passes away

Former Manila mayor Alfredo Lim died at the age of 90, Saturday, August 8, his chief of staff confirmed.

On Friday, the former mayor’s grandson Councilor Niño dela Cruz posted on Facebook asking for “prayers of healing and the speedy recovery” of his grandfather.

The post was deleted after a few minutes.

Lim was allegedly brought to a hospital due to the coronavirus disease.

Alfredo Lim, dubbed as the country’s “Dirty Harry” that he got as head of the National Bureau of Investigation because of his tough stance against crime. He then served two terms as Manila mayor before being appointed as interior secretary. He was elected as senator in 2004.
