A Facebook post of a netizen about the recent Super Pink Moon and a Bible verse is making rounds on the popular social media site.
The verse says “The moon will shine like the sun, and the sunlight will be seven times brighter, like the light of seven full days, when the LORD binds up the bruises of his people and heals the wounds he inflicted.” from the Book of Isaiah 30:26, international modern version. The post shared by Thonette Gonzales gathers more than 234 thousand times with 82 thousand reactions.
The Super Pink Moon is witnessed in the country on April 8, Holy Wednesday. Even the enhanced community quarantine is observed, some Filipino netizens exert effort not to miss this special phenomenon of size and brightness of the Moon to the Earth. The stunning photo of the Super Moon included in Thonette’s post is captured by photographer Leslie Reyes at their backyard in Baguio.
There are different ancient beliefs of this phenomenon. “The Pink Moon brings stability and security to crystallize recent changes and make them permanent improvements.” according to spiritualist Cherokee Billie.
According to NASA Solar System Exploration, “There are several variations of the Hindu lunisolar calendar, but for many this full Moon corresponds with the Hanuman Jayanti festival celebrating the birth of Lord Sri Hanuman.” For Rabbi Berger, the Moon becoming as large as the Sun is an “injustice” to God.
“This injustice will be rectified in the end of days.” the Rabbi said.
