A doctor gives ride to a man who walked all the way from Pampanga

A kind doctor gave a man a free ride while on his way to Manila.

Dr. Sherwin Enriquez, a Medical Officer III in Philippine General Hospital, found the man walking along NLEX. The man told him he started from Pampanga headed to Manila to ask help from his brother because he’s got nothing to eat while the enhanced community quarantine is implemented in the country. Moreover, the man told him he managed to survive the long walk by eating mangoes he picked from trees along the way.

The old man looked emotional when the doctor offered him a ride to Manila as seen in the recorded video. Dr. Enriquez was surprised when the man revealed to him that he was just about to walk to go to the city as there are no means of transportation due to the current situation in the country. The man was hesitant when Dr. Enriquez offered him to help but the doctor insisted “Sabay na po kayo sa kin, tay”. The man said he was heading to Cubao, Quezon City.

“Decided to give him a ride and five minutes later he was already sleeping. Sige lang, ‘tay! Kuha ka muna ng konting lakas, medyo mahaba pa ung laban natin!” Dr. Sherwin Enriquez captioned in a picture as the tired man regains his strength after long hours of journey.

At the Bocaue Toll Gate Office, Dr. Enriquez dropped him and turn him over to authorities for proper attention. Before they separated, the doctor gave the old man packs of biscuits and a few cash. “Ingat ka, tatay! Sana po ay makuha niyo ang tulong na kailangan niyo kasi walang tao na deserve tumanda ng ganito. Praying for you po!”, the Good Samaritan doctor wishes for the man.
